A Friday special
This’ll be my 20th newsletter in just as many days. With work piling up and finding myself struggling between providing good quality (short) content in a consistent way, I’m testing sprucing things up.
I’m doing this for a few reasons:
I asked and you answered - according to almost 50% of people who voted on the poll, daily snippets is the sweet spot
I don’t want to drop quality - this is a writing exercise for me so if I don’t like doing it, it’ll just become another task that I’ll eventually drop
A little diversity never hurt anyone
So without further ado, Fridays won’t have your usual, but just 3 thoughts/ideas that will hopefully be a good starter to help you look at things laterally.
Things that came to mind this week:
You don’t rest when you feel guilty about resting - I have this issue and I end up being constantly tired because I don’t value rest as an important part of the work process
You get heard more when you have extremist views - there’s this saying in journalism that a story is not when a dog bites a man, but when a man bites a dog. Being centered and having balanced opinions is uninteresting.
One of the things most successful people do different is that they invest work into making it look like their work works - take a moment with this one. I’m not talking about “fake it till you make it”, I’m talking about investing in packaging as much as you invest in product
So that’s it for this week, folks. Let me know what you think about the Friday format - you can always reply to this email.
I enjoyed writing it, so I’m definitely gonna give it a few more tries, but did you enjoy reading it?
