Sent out yesterday’s newsletter pretty late, so if you missed it, here it is again: Uncertainty as a superpower.
Welcome to the 5th Friday Special:
You made it through another week, you absolute unit, you. Let’s get to it:
Silence is golden. We talk too much in an attempt to impress or simply “get ahead”. Look at it this way - every time you’re talking, you’re most likely not learning anything new.
Giving feedback is a privilege. A lot of people make their opinions heard on a topic and expect it to be addressed in some shape or form. When you decide to share an opinion on subjects you weren’t asked to weigh in on, do it with no expectations. You’ll be less disappointed.
Stop jumping to conclusions and ask. Because we have a lot of access to fragmented information, we tend to have certainties before we see the whole picture (it’s why fake news is so prevalent). Take a breather and ask questions, you don’t have to act like Sherlock Holmes.
As a reminder, Friday is the day (of reckoning) where we look at a few thought starters that hopefully change your perspective on something.
You can disagree, of course, but try spending 5 minutes considering that these might be true, even if you eventually switch back to your original opinion, the exercise will most definitely help.
But wait, there’s more.
Before you leave into the sunset, I have a question and I’d really appreciate your answer.
Since I can use Substack to record and send out podcasts as well, I’m considering doing a trial version (maybe making it paid only in order to hire some editors to help out) of lateral thinking podcasts with various guests.
What do you think?
Would you listen to a weekly or bi-monthly podcast on practical uses of lateral thinking?
1. Yes (click here)
2. Nah (click here)
Go to poll page.
Thank you & have a great Friday!
I prefer emails to podcasts, though.
