Your friends make you who you are
Is it morning? Is it evening? Have I slept? Do I even know what sleep is? I’m currently in jet lag limbo so please excuse my crazier than usual rants.
Perhaps some MURDER will wake me up:
A man is dead in a locked (from the inside) empty room. He has been stabbed in the chest, but there is no weapon to be found?
As usual, one possible answer at the end of the email.

The average
The word that everyone hates. Average.
I briefly covered mediocrity (and why businesses bash it) here.
But let’s talk about something else today. A quote that has stuck with me for a while:
You are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with.
This relates to the law of averages.
It’s why sales people need to learn to take “no” for an answer and not spend an eternity pondering on it.
Why most entrepreneurs know shipping/doing things will likely eventually produce better results than endlessly planning.
Unfortunately, that means surrounding yourself with people who help you meet these goals.
If this is the first time you’re reading about this concept, I’m sorry. You’ll most likely spend some time filtering out friends based on this. You won’t be able to get it our of your head. At least I wasn’t.
After a while, you balance it out.
You realize different people bring different things to the table and not everyone has to be a mindless overachiever, self-help guru or insane time optimizer.
But the principle is still there.
Based on what you want to achieve in life, surround yourself with people that help you achieve that goal.
Because whatever friends you have now that you secretly feel don’t contribute to the life you want, know they’ll eventually disappear from your life.
Or, even worse, you’ll change to adapt to their lifestyle.
Answer: The man was stabbed with an icicle.
Fun fact, apparently the icicle is not the perfect murder weapon as many people think.
